I am a teacher of English Language and the Head of Foreign Language Department at “Ettore Romagnoli” Lower Secondary School in Gela (Italy). I’m in the School Digital Team for Innovation and a member of the School Erasmus+ staff as well as the Tesol Italy Local Group. I have been teaching English for about 30 years and I still love my job. I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher who cares about students’ needs and education. I have been a contact person for Trinity College London for 10 years and a group leader of students on study holidays abroad. I’m very keen on ICT and I use a lot of digital tools for education. I believe in the Teacher Professional Development and I am a fan of EU so I joined first the Lifelong learning Programme(Comenius) and then the Erasmus+ programme, taking part in many different projects and mobilities ( LTTA, TPM, Study Visits). I have attended several in-service teacher training courses in Italy and in Europe, in order to acquire new skills and competencies and become a better teacher. I think teachers are “the dynamos of educational change” and a good teacher can make the difference. |

Caterina Pruiti Ciarello
I was born in Sicily and I attended Salesian school. I studied at Liceo Classico where I learnt Latin and old Greek and two years later I obtained a second diploma to become a primary school teacher. Then I graduated in Italian Modern Literature at Catania University. From an early age I wanted to be a teacher, so I answered those who asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and even today, after I have been a teacher for twenty-seven years - 15 of which spent in a primary school-, I am still happy and proud about my job. I have been teaching Italian Language and Literature, History and Geography at the Ettore Romagnoli middle school in Gela for 12 years. At present, I am Coordinator the teaching of Civic Education. My passion for new experiences has led me to join the Erasmus+ experience, KA1 and KA2, which has proved to be a challenge and a source of new educational goals.
